GOING GREEN

Investing in hybrid vehicles is just one way Mediclinic is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

Hospitals are among the most energy-intensive businesses in the world and Mediclinic is constantly making changes to reduce our carbon footprint. By minimising carbon emissions and waste, we’ll all enjoy cost savings, a secured energy supply and a healthy planet for future generations.

One of our latest initiatives is investing in hybrid vehicles for our fleet of ER24 response vehicles. The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid is now joining the ER24 fleet and will be used by advanced life support (ALS) paramedics in the metropolitan areas. Mediclinic hospital representatives who use their vehicles regularly, such as doctor relationship managers and hospital administration staff, will also benefit from this green initiative.

As Rhett Davis, ER24 Fleet and Procurement Manager, explains, several factors were considered when selecting a vehicle to join the state-of-the-art fleet. “The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid met all the requirements, including safety, practicality, road presence, manufacturing reputation and very importantly, decreased environmental impact,” he says.
